More than 127,000 high school students chose to pursue a career-technical education at one of Ohio’s 99 career centers during the 2021-22 school year.
As February is CTE Month, it’s a great time to shine a light on the accomplishments of these high school students who will be the workforce of tomorrow.
Career-tech students are leaders, athletes, musicians, performers, artists, valedictorians, salutatorians, philanthropists, employees and entrepreneurs.
CTE is available and accessible to every Ohio high school student. With the number of career fields represented, CTE is an incredible option for every student who qualifies and has an interest in a particular career pathway.
Programs available include agriculture/environmental studies, arts and communication, business, construction technology and transportation, education, engineering, finance, health science, hospitality/tourism, human services, information technology, law, marketing, and manufacturing technology.
These programs prepare career-tech students for any number of post-secondary opportunities: college, the military, the workforce, continued technical training or starting a business. CTE students spend more time focusing on the path ahead than students in traditional schools. Enrollment, Employment, Enlistment and Entrepreneurship initiatives at CTE schools help students plan for their futures.
