The curriculum includes anatomy; physiology; medical terminology; laboratory techniques; clinical and diagnostic procedures; pharmaceutical principles; administration of medicines; CPR/First Aid; AED training; medical office software; medical terminology; medical law and ethics; insurance/ billing; medical coding; office practices; and patient relations.

Program Specifics

The Medical Assisting program provides students with a working knowledge of the patient and office side of the medical field. Students will train to work in areas such as medical assistants and front office employees, in such locations as doctors’ offices, nursing homes, or hospitals. Required clinical experience of 160 hours, and 720 in lab/classroom hours during two-year program. (Background check and immunization documentation required.)
