Emergency Vehicle Operations Course (EVOC)
Meets the new Ohio Department of Public Safety requirement for any firefighter certification (except the 36-hour volunteer firefighter course). Also meets the requirements of NFPA 1451 and NFPA 1002. May include actual emergency vehicle driving at the participant’s respective department and (or) classroom. This is a prerequisite for the Transition, Firefighter II or 240. Rope Rescue Level 1
Exceeds NFPA 1006 and 1670 standards. Skills include tying knots, building anchors, ascending and descending fixed line, mechanical advantage, lowering systems, belay systems and moving victims in both low- and high-angle scenarios. Class is conducted at C-TEC and in the field; majority of the class is hands-on. Helmet with chin strap, gloves and harness required. Instructor: Mike Bolte. Rope Rescue Level 2
Exceeds NFPA 1006 and 1670 standards. Build on the basic skills learned in Level 1, with a focus on critical thinking. New skills will include knot passing in mail line, fixed line, and belay systems, artificial anchors, urban lead climbing, pick offs, and high line systems. Intensive, complete hands-on program. Concealed Carry Class
Successful completion of this 12-hour class will fulfill Ohio’s certified training requirement to apply for a concealed carry license. Class will be held at C-TEC, and the range class will be held at the Coshocton Gun Club. NO WEAPONS TO BE CARRIED ON SCHOOL PROPERTY. Instructors are OPOTA approved. Must be in department uniform or navy blue shirt and slacks with black shoes for FFI or FFII (not volunteer FF).
