Emergency Medical Technician – Basic
Learn all aspects of pre-hospital EMS including treatment and transportation; nature and extent of injury/illness; and basic and advanced life-saving skills – CPR, intubation and automatic external defibrillation and vehicle extrication. Additional hours will be added for scheduled module testing.  EMT National Registry testing will be scheduled following each EMT session. The off-site written exam will be scheduled on-line through NREMT. The practical exam will be scheduled at C-TEC during class. Must meet course completion requirements to be eligible to take National Registry test.
 
Emergency Medical Technician – Basic Refresher
Encompasses the State of Ohio regulated refresher hours on: pediatrics, OB/GYN, geriatrics, operations, airway management, cardiac arrest management, trauma patient management and medical patient management. Contact: Earl Miller at (740) 364-2298 or Erna Holland at (740) 364-2282.

Paramedic Refresher
Encompasses the State of Ohio regulated refresher hours for EMT-Paramedics on: airway management, cardiology, medical emergencies, trauma issues, pediatrics, OB/GYN, geriatrics, and EMS operations. Contact: Earl Miller at (740) 364-2298.

PREREQUISITES
FOR ALL EMT and FIREFIGHTER CLASSES:

Completion of NIMS 100+700
(copy of certificate required)

Valid driver’s license

Pre-test 1 time ($40) in WorkKeys math, reading and locating information

Minimum age: 17 years old and at least a senior in high school
or

Must be 18 years old and a high school graduate or GED to take state public
safety test

Criminal record may disqualify candidate

Any student funded by a department will need to present a letter of intent to pay from the chief at the time of enrollment. Fax letter of intent to (740) 364-2303.
