Medical Assistant Minimize

Be prepared for the national M.A. Registry through a combination of classroom and clinical experiences. You’ll learn healthcare administrative skills, medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, safety, nutrition, body structure and function, clinical assisting and more. After successful completion of the course, you will be eligible to take the test for the RMA (Registered Medical Assisting) through the AMT (American Medical Technology). Prerequisites: 2-step TB test, Healthcare Provider CPR, Hepatitis B series, WorkKeys, typing with 35 wpm minimum, computer skills.  There may be a background check and drug screen requirement for externship. Black scrubs with white closed toe and heel tennis shoe or clinical shoe.  White cuffed long sleeve scrub jacket, stethoscope and a watch with an easy-to-read second hand.  Contact Lynn Holliday, R.N., at (740) 364-2265 or Erna Holland at (740) 364-2282.

The 200-hour clinical externship to be scheduled at various clinical sites following the successful completion of classroom hours and doumentation of all prerequisites.
